Guitar purchase advice please?

I have never played the guitar before but I am not new to insturments, I play the flute, piano/keyboard, and the violin. I am interested in learning how to play the guitar but I really like the sound of both the electric guitar and acoustic so I am having trouble choosing between those two. Money is not really an issue. I am only allowed to purchase one or the other (acoustic or electric). What do you think? Thanks.
